This is one of those jobs where you don’t realize how much fun you’re having until it’s over. Ok, just kidding, I totally knew how much fun I was having. With a brave executive creative director and a willing distribution company, I was given near total creative freedom as Copywriter on the ambitious viral promotional campaign for Prometheus (2013, 20th Century Fox, Dir. Ridley Scott).
My journey on the Prometheus campaign was one of my favorite career moments ever. It was the first new feature released from the Aliens franchise in over a decade. Armed with an encyclopedia of rare Aliens canon and logins to all the fan forums, I did my research and responded with real-time content dumps for legions of rabid fans in the run up to the release of the movie. The unique content was fertile ground for speculation about the plot and propelled premier buzz to crazy levels.
Connecting with fans so directly and genuinely--it doesn’t get much better than that.
